GYMS

Yes. Outlooks Gym (situated on our top floor) has a full range of cardiovascular equipment, resistance weights machines, a functional training area and sauna & hot tub. We also have a free weights gym, consisting of; free weights and various weights machines & equipment popular with body builders, powerlifters, sportsmen/women and those wishing to focus on power and strength training.

No, you do not need to book an induction before using either of our gyms. In Outlooks Gym we have trained fitness instructors in attendance at all times to help you with the equipment and to offer training and nutritional advice. There are no additional fees for this. All new users of our Free Weights Gym must undergo a safety consultation and weights assessment before using the equipment unsupervised. One of our instructors will take you through the assessment during your first visit – no booking is required.

No, we do not offer the option to purchase membership online. Gym memberships are available to purchase from our Reception desk, 9am to 10pm 7 days a week.

If you wish to try our gym(s) before deciding whether to commit to membership, you can pay our non-member daily rates, payable to Reception on arrival. Our minimum short-term membership is 3 months, however we do offer a one-month membership to people only in the area for a short time.

FITNESS CLASSES

No. All our Fitness Classes (apart from Group Cycling) are offered on a first come first served basis. Payment is made at Reception on arrival. Group Cycling is limited to 15 and advance booking is available at Reception (Members up to 10 days in advance. Non-members up to 7 days in advance)

The minimum age to attend our fitness classes is 16. 16 is also the minimum age to use Outlooks Gym or our Free Weights Gym.

No. You are welcome to bring your own gloves, but we do provide them as part of the class fee.

CLIMBING

No, you do not need to book an induction. Individuals must be registered to use the Climbing Wall unsupervised and undergo an induction on their first visit, but this does not need to be booked in advance. Reception staff provide you with the registration paperwork on your first visit.

We offer climbing courses for 8-14 years olds during the school holidays. Check out our Children’s Holiday Activities page to see if there are any courses currently available to book. For casual climbing; there is no minimum age for children to climb at KK, but all under 16’s must be accompanied by a registered adult at all times. Registered climbers may supervise a maximum of two children under 16/novice climbers as long as they are prepared to take full responsibility for their safety. For 16 and 17 year olds, parent must be present on the first visit to go through the induction and give their signed consent to authorise their child to climb unsupervised for future visits.

No, we do not hire out any climbing equipment. Our wall is predominately a bouldering wall – free climbing without ropes/harnesses. If you are new to climbing and don’t have climbing shoes, then trainers/gym shoes are fine to begin with – basically something that is flexible with a grip.

STUDENTS

Yes, student discounts are available for most activities, including fitness classes and gym memberships. Please see our Membership pages for student rates.

You must be a full-time student, with a student card that has a photo of you & an expiry date printed on. You must show this to Reception when paying for activities or purchasing membership in order to be charged student rates.

Yes, as long as you have a student card with your photo and expiry date on, you will be charged student rates.

There are bikes racks in Queen Anne car park, located next door to us. Please note this car park is operated by Cambridge City Council. We cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage caused to bikes.

Gym memberships can be suspended during the holidays at no additional cost, as long as you provide us with written confirmation of the suspension. The rules on suspension vary depending on what type of membership you have e.g. 3 month or monthly direct debit. Please enquire at Reception or email us if you have a question about membership suspension.

Yes, we offer block-bookings. A block-booking is when our facilities are hired for a minimum of 4 dates and we invoice you in advance (please note day membership still payable by all non-members when attending the bookings). Block-bookings are subject to availability. Please contact the Booking Office if you are interested in setting up a block-booking.

MISCELLANEOUS

We do not have our own designated car park, but we are adjacent to Queen Anne Terrace Car Park. This car park is operated by Cambridge City Council and charges apply.

Yes, both the sauna and hot-tub are available to non-members who pay the daily rate to use Outlooks Gym (there is not a price just for use of the sauna & hot tub).
